Drivers on US Highway 19 in Clearwater between Curlew Road and State Road 580 will notice a change in the traffic flow beginning this week. All of the left turn breaks on US 19 are being closed. If a driver wants to make a left turn on US 19, they will now have to go all the way to Curlew Road (if northbound) and make a u-turn or to Estancia Blvd (if southbound) and make a u-turn. While this is certainly safer than drivers trying to make a left turn across four lanes of US 19, it will take more time to get where they’re going.
